As the 2025-2026 school year comes to an end, the final quarter at Garden Plain High School is packed with exciting milestones, memorable events, and opportunities for students to shine.
Kicking things off, juniors will take an important step toward their futures with ACT Day on April 15. This day is dedicated to helping students showcase their academic abilities as they prepare for college and career opportunities. Around the same time, sophomores and juniors will be participating in state testing. Sophomores are tested in math and English, while juniors are tested in science.
One of the most highly anticipated events of the season is prom, happening on Saturday, April 25. This year’s theme, “Boots and Bling,” promises a fun Western-inspired night filled with dancing and unforgettable memories. Prom will be held at JM Collingwood Barn in Pretty Prairie.
Adding to the excitement, senior Kai Laird will debut a student-written play, “Campfire Chronicles.” The play was collectively student-written by the cast with an individual student director, Kai Laird. This play showcases the creativity and talent within the Drama Club. They will be performing their play on May 7-9 in the GPHS Auditorium. This is a unique opportunity for students and staff to support one of their own while enjoying a performance that highlights the arts at Garden Plain.
As the year wraps up, the school community will come together for Awards Day on May 12, where senior scholarships will be recognized, and outstanding students from each class will be honored for their achievements. This event is always a meaningful way to celebrate hard work, dedication, and success.
Finally, the year will conclude with graduation on May 17 at 2:00 PM in the North Gym. This special ceremony marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another for the senior class. Surrounded by friends, family, and teachers, graduates will walk the stage and celebrate all they’ve accomplished. Speeches from valedictorians, staff members, and Kody Kasselman, GPHS principal, will also be featured at this event.
With so many important events ahead, the final quarter at Garden Plain High School is sure to be full of excitement, pride, and lasting memories for students of all grades.
